اَلْحَقّ
al-Ḥaqq

The Real · The True

Reality itself, set against all that vanishes.

The tongue
From ḥ-q-q; ḥaqq (حَقّ) is at once truth (against the false), reality (against illusion), and right (against the unjust).
The reason
All that is not He has only a borrowed being; at every instant He alone is, and makes be.
The Sufi meaning
Al-Ḥaqq is the most spoken Name of the Sufis. Anā-l-Ḥaqq (أَنَا الْحَقّ); Yā Ḥaqq — not because they identify themselves with God, but because all the rest suddenly appears to them as less real than He.
The servant's portion
Seek the Real beneath the appearance; do not lie, and do not accept the lie within yourself.
