Name 75 / 100 · ✦ Plenitude
اَلْآخِر
al-Ākhir

The Last

After all ending.

The tongue
From ʾ-kh-r; ākhir is the last in order — but with no next-to-last that precedes Him.
The reason
After Him, nothing. When all has passed — the worlds, the names, the works — He will be, as He was.
The Sufi meaning
Al-Awwal (اَلْأَوَّل) and al-Ākhir are pronounced together: He is at the beginning and at the end. All that unfolds between the two is inscribed within His parenthesis.
The servant's portion
Keep the end in view: not to be frightened by it, but so as not to waste your time along the way.
