Who raises what He wills to the first rank.
The tongue
From q-d-m; qadima is to precede, to be at the head. An intensive form: He places forward.
The reason
He places first what He wills: the prophets, the saints, the just works. And He places first, in each one's life, what ought to be.
The Sufi meaning
Inner order matters: what you put first in your life reveals who you are. God first, and the rest follows in the just hierarchy.
The servant's portion
Put first what ought to be first; inner disorder always arises from a wrong priority.
