Peace in itself, the source of all peace.

The tongue

From s-l-m: to be sound, intact, at peace. Al-Kāfījī: “He is Peace, for no alteration reaches Him, and from Him flows the peace of hearts.”

The reason

Being free of all lack, He is absolute security; creatures have peace only in proportion to their return toward Him.

The Sufi meaning

The sakīna that descends upon the heart of the one who remembers is a reflection of this Name. Whoever enters into peace with God enters into peace with all.

The servant's portion

Be a source of peace for whoever draws near you: let your presence calm without need of words.
