Name 10 / 100 · 🌙 Majesty
اَلْجَبَّار
al-Jabbār
The Sovereign Restorer
He who repairs what is broken, and imposes what He wills.
The tongue
From j-b-r; a twofold sense — jabara means both to set a broken bone and to compel. Al-Kāfījī insists on the first: He is above all the Restorer.
The reason
He restores broken hearts and straightens what leans; and no one compels His will.
The Sufi meaning
When the soul is in pieces, this Name is the balm. Ibn ʿArabī would say: al-Jabbār does not diminish the broken — He recomposes it vaster than before.
The servant's portion
Do not break what is already fragile; be jābir — a restorer — for those around you.
